Resumen

Don Quijote follows the misadventures of Alonso Quixano, a middle-aged Spanish gentleman who, obsessed with tales of knights and chivalry, reinvents himself as the noble Don Quijote de la Mancha.

Clad in rusty armor, astride an old horse named Rocinante, and accompanied by his earthy and loyal squire Sancho Panza, Don Quijote sets off to revive knighthood and defend the helpless — though reality often fails to match his ideals.

From tilting at windmills he believes to be giants to misreading inns as enchanted castles, Don Quijote’s imagination turns the mundane into the fantastical.

Meanwhile, Sancho Panza provides comic relief, homespun wisdom, and a dose of realism.

As the novel progresses, Cervantes deepens the satire into a profound meditation on idealism vs.

reality, madness vs.

sanity, and the power of stories to shape our perception of the world.
