Summary

The Pickwick Papers (originally The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club) follows the humorous misadventures of the kindly and naive Mr.

Samuel Pickwick and his fellow members of the Pickwick Club as they travel across England to observe human nature and report their findings.

Their journey leads to a series of comedic mishaps, misunderstandings, eccentric characters, and absurd situations—including legal troubles, mistaken identities, and romantic entanglements. Along the way, Mr.

Pickwick is often saved (and sometimes baffled) by his sharp-witted valet, Sam Weller, who quickly became a beloved character in English literature.

While light-hearted in tone, the novel also satirizes the legal system, social class, and various quirks of Victorian society.
