Summary

Gabriel Syme, a poet turned secret detective, infiltrates a council of anarchists in Edwardian London.

Each member of this secret society is named for a day of the week.

Syme is appointed “Thursday”, but as he delves deeper into their activities, he realizes that nothing is what it seems—and neither are the men he thought were enemies.

What begins as a political spy story soon morphs into a surreal, dreamlike journey filled with bizarre chases, philosophical debates, and existential dread. As Syme uncovers each layer of deception, he is drawn into a profound confrontation with order, chaos, free will, and the nature of God.

This "nightmare" is part detective novel, part theological allegory, and part fever dream, told with Chesterton’s trademark paradoxes, humor, and spiritual insight.
