Summary
Set in 17th-century France, Cyrano de Bergerac tells the story of Cyrano, a brilliant poet, swordsman, and soldier with a larger-than-life nose—which he believes makes him unlovable. Though he's witty, brave, and charismatic, Cyrano is plagued by insecurity about his appearance, especially when it comes to love.
Cyrano is secretly in love with Roxane, his beautiful and intelligent cousin. But she confesses to him that she loves another man—Christian, a handsome but tongue-tied cadet in Cyrano's regiment.
